What does your /var/log/daemon.log say in regard to the failed attempt to start the MySQL server?

i am a web developer, and mysql-server is an important part of my setup...why is this bug listed as incomplete, and how.when can we make it complete??????

 * mysql configuration stripped of private information (such as password):

    /etc/mysql/my.cnf

 * extra mysql configuration from the conf.d directory:

    /etc/mysql/conf.d/

because mysql doesn't complete its installation i cannot provide any data from the following files:

    /var/log/daemon.log
    /var/log/kern.log

extra mysql configuration from the conf.d directory:

    /etc/mysql/conf.d/

...there are no files in this directory.

I believe this bug is related to: 292706 and 444479
