Bug Description

Hi Guys,

Since the last MySQL update to version "5.7.29-0ubuntu0.16.04.1" every "restart, stop and start, clean reboot, ..." produce a MySQL crash and a recovery process.

Up to the last comment [1], this bug seems to be fixed on the latest 5.7.31

Thanks Hassan for filing this report and for linking to the upstream bug. The upstream bug mentions it's fixed in the upcoming version 5.7.31 of MySQL, but I couldn't find any recent commit at:

https://github.com/mysql/mysql-server/tree/5.7

which seems to be the official public git repo, but I'm not familiar with the development model of MySQL. Without seeing how the bug has been fixed it's difficult to tell the best path forward here, but this is certainly something that will have to be addressed, in one way or another.

Changed in mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu):
