VMware not grabbing Alt+Tab input in Wayland sessions

I am currently running VMware workstation pro 16.1. When pressing alt+tab to toggle the windows in the guest OS, the input is instead applied to the host OS and not the guest. When switching from Wayland to Xorg the problem is resolved.
