Bug Description
Binary package hint: metacity
I am currently using Dapper and see this issue fairly often, but I think it still exists in Edgy as well.
When maximizing a window using the Metacity window manager and a theme with rounder corners such as the default Human Metacity theme, the top corners are not always drawn properly - they should become square, but sometimes they simply remain rounded.
This problem seems to occur most often when the window is already close to the size of the display - so maximizing the window doesn't change its shape by much. It can also occur when initially starting an application.
A workaround is to unmaximize the window, resize it to be small compared to the size of the screen, and then remaximize the window.
I will attach screenshots to illustrate.
Screenshot #1 - "Bad" drawing of the upper corners of the maximized window. Notice that you can see the black desktop background in the upper corners. This is not specific to this particular Metacity theme, it occurs with all round-cornered themes I have tried.
