Strange behavior maximizing windows already at maximum size

Bug Description

To demonstrate this, you need a theme with rounded window borders (like clearlooks). First, take a non-maximized window and resize it so it takes the entire space of the desktop (do *NOT* maximize it, just resize). Once this is done, double click the title bar, click the maximize button, etc. The rounded corners will not become rectangular, but the window border will go away (like in normal maximization). Also, the maximize button will not change to unminimize.

It seems that (related to this) many apps are launched in what *should* be a maximized state, however:

1) the window borders are not rectangular
2) you can't unminimize them

See attached screenshots.
