Bug Description

It seems that newlines in messages are sent and received, but they are not shown in the messaging-app (I would expect that they would be shown). However, the newline is shown in the notification bubble (see attached screenshot) and in the Notification center.

OS: Ubuntu 14.10 (r203)

using the latest rtm build 59 I can confirm slightly different, but still broken behavior.
The notification bubble now appends the lines together. The messaging-app just ignores the blank line

some reports point as well that leading spaces are cleared out in the same way...

confirming new lines can be seen both in notification and in messaging app; while spaces at the beginning of a line can only be seen in the notification but are cut in the messaging app. However, spaces are shown in the index of messages (i.e. only in the conversation are not shown)

the fix works, testing now with urls and phone numbers to ensure they dont regress
