black screen playing videos sent from android devices (MP4)

Bug Description
All videos recorded and sent from android devices (tested with many Samsung and Alcatel devices) are opened in media player, but the result is a black screen without audio. Self recorded files are correctly played, but android devices can only play audio.

Some updates...
it seems that some updates here and there have improved some things. Now all videos recorded from Alcatel devices are played, but Samsung devices are problematic (both .mp4)
