Bug Description
Binary package hint: metacity
I just upgraded to Maverick. To mu surprise every application window which I open is maximized (if the window had this functionality). On a separate note, all maximized windows are stripped of a title bar. The latter I consider an improvement but not the former. Is it possible for the window manager to remember the last state of the window, and open it in such a way? I believe this was the default behavior in Lucid.

I figured out this is not metacity's doing but maximus (0.4.14-1ubuntu2). The issue can be fixed by setting /apps/maximus/ no_maximize to true in gconf-editor. I propose this should be the default behavior of this package.
