Bug Description

Binary package hint: maximus

I installed the ubuntu-netbook package on my Gnome desktop and now when I log into a Gnome session and maximize an application all window decorations are missing. This makes it challenging to unmaximize applications.

This also happens in Maverick beta, although I didn't notice the problem in Lucid. I think things can be adjusted in gconf-editor but it's a bit of a pain. As a workaround, I've added the Window Picker applet to the top panel; this provides the same behaviour as in the netbook session.
