Bug Description

Binary package hint: maximus

Changelogs:

Latest Ubuntu Changelog:
maximus (0.4.14-0ubuntu4) lucid; urgency=low

  * data/maximus-autostart.desktop: Move autostart phase from desktop to
applications, so that it doesn't block the startup of other programs, and
the scheduler can sort out which program to give the CPU to. This compacts
    the CPU usage on startup.

Latest Debian Changelog:
maximus (0.4.14-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * [454633a] Imported Upstream version 0.4.14

Since this is a merge, I'll provide a patch in a minute. The package also build fine in a lucid-chroot:

dpkg-deb: building package `maximus' in `../maximus_0.4.14-1_i386.deb'.
 dpkg-genchanges >../maximus_0.4.14-1_i386.changes
dpkg-genchanges: including full source code in upload
dpkg-buildpackage: full upload (original source is included)
I: Copying back the cached apt archive contents

Sorry Daniel, I am unable to understand why it doesn't work, I am
attaching a little log file that shows the process I went through and it
works fine. Also in Debian, I just noticed a new patch [1] that someone
made and it hasn't been included into this package so this diff I am
making would be kind of useless.

Regarding the patch: sorry, my mistake.

A few things:
 - The merged version should be 04.14-1ubuntu1.
 - I think you have the changelog entries also a bit wrong. "remaining changes" should list all the changes that we have on top of the debian version.

(I don't see how your patch does these things for example:

+ - Bumped up the Standards version to 3.8.4
+ - Added VCS information
+ - Updated package description
+ - Removed x-window manager from Provides field and moved it to Depends

but there's a number of other things it does.

Debian has a patch in BTS that hasn't yet been incorporated into the package, so should I go on without the patch (we are already on feature freeze) or stop?

unsubscribed ubuntu-sponsors, please resubscribe once you have addressed Daniels reclamations.

You can incorporate the patch from the BTS if you want (but you don't have to) - it's just adding a Homepage entry to debian/control. The feature freeze will not prevent the merge, because you do not merge a new upstream release.
