dbus daemon is quickly saturated with match rules

Bug Description
I check my journal logs and it is filled with lots of dbus error about:
dbus-daemon[1483]: [session uid=1000 pid=1483] Connection ":1.66" is not allowed to add more match rules (increase limits in configuration file if required; max_match_
Search through google shows this is a bug related to mate-terminal's keyboard handling and it has been fixed in June 2018: https:/
Can anyone help to port this fix into 18.04 LTS as the latest available version is 1.20.0-4 and it still have this bug. Thanks.
