Bug Description
When using the desktop menu, the items in the submenu cannot be selected/clicked on via the touchscreen. It does work with the mouse/touchpad. The menu can be opened via the touchscreen, the submenus can be expanded, but when I try to click on an item in a submenu it fails. The menu stays open. I believe I can see (albeit extremely short, for maybe 0.4 seconds) that I clicked on an item, but it the menu does not disappear (e.g. the item is not really clicked on apparently).
According to my family member (who's the actual bugreporter, but I'm helping her and verified the bug), it worked correctly in a previous Ubuntu release (e.g. it "broke" when we upgraded from 19.04 -> 19.10 -> 20.04 a few months ago).
Version: Ubuntu (MATE) 20.04.2
Hardware: Lenovo Yoga 530 (laptop with touchscreen)
