Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Ubuntu MATE 20.04 LTS
2. Launch `mate-appearance-properties` from terminal

Expected results:
* The *Appearance Preferences* window is opened, the terminal is empty

Actual results:
* The *Appearance Preferences* window is opened, the terminal contains a number of

(mate-appearance-properties:20377): Gdk-WARNING **: 14:59:10.409: ../../../../../gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5633 drawable is not a native X11 window

lines (189 in my case).

Really it still happens in VirtualBox with latest Ubuntu MATE 20210730 installed.
