Bug Description

The man page Boot(7) is missing information about upstart. Also, the man page includes information which is not relevant to Ubuntu at all.

For example the following is not relevant:

Note: The following description applies to System V release 4 based system,
which currently covers most commercial Unix systems (Solaris, HP-UX,
Irix, Tru64) as well as the major Linux distributions (RedHat, Debian,
Mandrake, Suse, Caldera). Some systems (Slackware Linux, FreeBSD,
OpenBSD) have a somewhat different scheme of boot scripts.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in manpages.

There's runlevel(7) and upstart(7) which contains much of the Upstart-related documentation, we should merge this into boot(7) where appropriate or reference
