Bug Description

Binary package hint: listen

In Listen version 0.5-5ubuntu2 (on Xubuntu 8.10), setting a new podcast feed url in the player causes the player to download all available podcasts for that feed. This can result in several hundreds of megabytes of files being queued for download.

The player should be able to identify only the most recent podcast in the feed, and begin downloading just the most recent files. Prior podcasts could be downloaded at the user's discretion.

The Banshee music player is able to implement this functionality. It would be great if Listen could take this approach, too.

This bug was reported against a very old version of Ubuntu, and many updates have taken place since then. Does this issue still exist?
