Bug Description

when I start the Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.10 through the USB card, my netbook shows this message and hangs totally.

"phy0 - rt2800pci_mcu_status: Error - MCU request failed, no response fron hardware"

I have a WiFi card onboard Ralink RT3090 802.11 b / g / n, had my system since it worked when I activated the card during the initialization-using "fn + F2" but only worked once and now no longer works and ubuntu 9:10 functioned normally on my netbook and did not get to test the 10.04 and now I have these problems with 10.10.

Hi Ulisses,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 697063

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I can't even boot to recovery to install the latest wireless driver

Everything worked in 10.10, and I can boot to the live usb of ubuntu 11.04, although the installer hangs after the first step

I had to install 10.10, boot to it, and then upgrade to 11.04 to even get to this point, but now boot hangs everytime

This is the wireless driver, you can disable it to at least get the machine to boot by pressing 'e' on the grub boot screen and editing the boot commands...

Find the 'linux' command, it should look something like this:
linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-24-generic root=UUID=c5b47225-1a42-4dd0-991c-0d883040689d ro quiet splash

There may be some other parameters in there, add the following:
rt2800pci.blacklist=yes

put it after the 'ro'

This disables the driver and allows your machine to boot.
