Bug Description
Binary package hint: kernel-
I have an Averatec 2460, Intel Core Duo, Intel 945GM chipset, Intel GMA 950 graphics, onboard Realtek 8139 NIC. Ubuntu and many other distros fail to install, it hangs at hardware detection. I managed to install Breezy and upgrade to Dapper. The Dapper kernel (2.6.15-26) won't boot. The reason is the 8139too module used for the NIC. If I re-compile the Dapper kernel and the 8139too module with "Use PIO instead of MMIO" set then it works.
This is a serious bug because a single module prevents Dapper from installing at all!
