I just upgraded my Eee 900A from 9.10 to 10.04 LTS, going from kernel 2.6.31-22 to 2.6.32-22 and LAN was gone.
Booting the upgraded system with the old kernel or pressing Fn+F2 fixes the problem, (but I want Wifi and Bluetooth disabled, so the later option is bad).
