Bug Description

Hi,

tonight many Ubuntu 16.04 Linux Servers rebooted because of kernel update 4.15.0-60-generic

Now they get a kernel panic "not syncing" - somewhere around ip_do_fragment

When we select the old kernel 4.15.0-58-generic all is running well.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1842629

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

The screenshot has only part of the stack trace, but it seems to be the same issue as bug #1842447.

more and more systems are crashing. All of them are used as linux router / proxy.

The crash takes some time after a reboot.

Till now I have no good screenshot of the crash, because

- keyboard and or screen don't give feedback
- I am also not at the remote suite

I checked syslog file, but the crash is not logged there.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for the additional information about the crash.

We are already working on the fix and it's being tracked on bug #1842447, so I will mark this report as duplicate.

Thank you.

it seams that with kernel 4.15.0-62-generic the bug is gone.
