In my 12.04 system the instalation of linux-image-3.2.0-30-generic version 3.2.0-30.48 was aborted by the following error:
/usr/share/syslinux/themes/debian/extlinux: No such file or directory
This left the package broken and every packgage manager (aptitude, apt-get and synaptic) unsuable because they tried to reinstall linux-image-3.2.0-30-generic before installing any other package.
To solve this problem I had to manually install syslinux-themes-debian and syslinux-themes-debian-squeeze through dpkg after downloading the corresponding deb files.
Its the first time I install syslinux-themes-debian in my system, previous kernel version never needed it.
