BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000300

Recently I experienced the issue that after dis- and reconnecting my monitor (Philips 346B1C) with USB-Hub, my laptop (Lenovo E480) did not accept any inputs (mouse or keyboard, neither), while the display looked OK.
I was able to access the laptop using SSH and found following backtrace in dmesg:

After a reboot, the issue was gone (and did not occur again). The backtrace also was not stored in kern.log .
