True for 16.04 also, even worse. There is no Quit button. You cannot quit linphone at all. The only way is to kill it using "kill" command.

Running linphone in Ubuntu Studio (xfce). When starting linphone an icon appears in the notification area, right-click this icon and choose quit is one way to quit linphone. I wouldn't consider the behaviour as a bug. Skype on Windows has the same behaviour, cosing the Skype-window with the close-button will not stop Skype. I think it's intended behaviour.

Just tested linphone in Ubuntu (Unity). Simply right-click linphone's launcher-icon and choose "Quit". That's it.

doesnt work for me. it's still in the process list after right-click-and-quit in launcher.

@vsepd You are right, I checked again. A right-click on the launcher-icon and choosing "Quit" only removes the launcher-icon from the launcher. The system monitor shows linphone still running. It works flawless for me in xfce, but not in Unity, probably also not in Ubuntu Gnome, have not tested in Gnome yet. In this case I have to consider it as a bug too.
