Bug Description
I have recently upgraded, relatively painlessly, from Natty --> Oneiric --> Precise. In Natty sound worked fine, but now in Precise there is no sound at all in lightyears. There is nothing printed in the console to give a clue as to why.
The "toggle sound" option doesn't make a difference and the Sound settings dialog claims that a python program (presumably this) is making a sound but there is nothing at all.
