Bug Description

Binary package hint: liferea

I'm behind a non-transparent proxy (Squid 2.5) where I have to authenticate.
It doesn't matter if I set the proxy settings gnome-wide or just in liferea.
Updating of the feeds works fine but if I set "open links in liferea window" to true and I double click on an feed item I get a"Cache Access Denied, please authenticate yourself" message from the proxy.
Also the enclosed images (like from the dilbert feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/tapestrydilbert) are not shown anymore.
I'm using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 beta, the version of liferea is 1.4.14-0ubuntu2

We use Xulrunner 1.9 as the rendering engine now. Is Firefox 3 working for you?
I guess you need to have it working independently of Liferea so that using
Liferea as a browser works.

Firefox 3 works perfectly. It's asking me for proxy credentials, and then it shows me the site. Unfortunately just not in liferea. Here he doesn't aks me anything. I will check on monday, if I have the correct Xulrunner version.

I've checked the settings now. Xulrunner 1.9 is installed. Tested it with prism (GoogleTalk).
There I will be asked for proxy credential. After entering it, all is perfect.
But in liferea it still doesn't work. Neither with manual proxy settings nor with the global Gnome proxy settings.
Inline images are also not displayed.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

This is reproductible in 8.10 and is confirmed upstream.

upstream is marked as won't fix with the justification that it's a feature request and they'll implement it when they get around to it (not sure why launchpad is not importing that status here)

It should be fixed in 1.5.15

Thank you. Not marking as fix committed, because I don't know when the 1.5.x branch will be introduced into Ubuntu.
