Bug Description

Version 1.1.0 (released in March 2022) brings MP3 encoding/decoding support. It would be great if the version here could be updated.

libsndfile-1.1.0 is now (2022-09-06) packaged in Debian and will automatically be imported into Ubuntu with the next DebianImport.

Unfortunately we missed the freeze deadline for 22.10/kinetic, which means that the first Ubuntu version with the new library version will be 23.04

thank you for adding it to the 23.04 release!
is there a way to make it installable via package managers on lower versions of Ubuntu (18 and 20)? would be super useful if you can provide it
