Bold text in a text box look "too fat" in slide show mode when a CJK font is used. As an example, VL Gothic font is a Japanese font. When you use this font, make the text bold and go into slide show mode, the text looks "duplicated" on top of each other.
This only happens when the hardware acceleration is enabled in the Options dialog.
