libgphoto 2.4.8 was released: http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/news/

Please update the lucid packages to it. Hopefully my girlfriends canon will work then.

Next stable release will have 2.4.7

lucid (libs): gphoto2 digital camera library
2.4.7-0ubuntu1: amd64 i386

latest debian is 2.4.1
so I guess someone would have to create a new DEB

In the meantime, libgphoto2 2.4.8 is available in a Karmic PPA at https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/extra

The new version just adds new IDs and fixes some bugs, so it's appropriate for feature freeze.
