Sony-Ericsson W760i: doesn't mount properly

So I have a Sony-Erricson W760i mobile phone. When connecting it using USB, I can choose between Mass Storage (not working, but I think that's a kernel bug), MTP, and PictBridge.

When choosing the MTP mode, the system appears to try to connect to the phone, but after a minute or so, this pops up:

Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device

The two icons (one for internal memory, other for MemoryStick) do appear in computer:///, and a few seconds later - on the desktop, and I can browse the files.

The icons are of digital cameras though (not of a phone or a music player).

 (I edited /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobe/10osvendor/20-libgphoto2.fdi myself, adding a new entry based on the existing "SonyEricsson W910", in an attempt to fix this.)
