Bug Description
Per a discussion with Colin Watson at UDS-Boston, 2007, we found an anomaly that occurs when the syslog server is restarted after its initial start in netcfg. It appeared to be a race-condition, as running the script through strace or attaching strace bypassed the waitpid.
It manifested itself as the postinst maintainer script for the netcfg udeb became a zombie, even though its children had moved on to a different process group and session.
