ledcontrol not functioning in 8.10 ?

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ledcontrol

Since I upgraded to 8.10 ledcontrol (0.5.2-10 ) doesn't seem to function anymore.
a command like
     ledcontrol set s5 on
used to switch on scroll-lock, but now nothing happens.

For me too it does not work anymore. And I am quite sure it stopped working after the upgrade to 8.10.

Second that, with the additional notice that it does work for all terminals not in X. Since handling leds in X is the troublesome part, this is a bit of a problem. Any ideas?

Kubuntu 8.10 with all available updates.
