Bug Description
I've noticed since Wily that, after my KDE session has been open for about a day, it freezes several times a day for a few seconds, then becomes (somewhat) usable again right after the following message is displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen:
Desktop effects were restarted due to a graphics reset
Usually, for some minutes before the freeze, CPU usage is at 100% on all cores. This is usually lowered right after the session unfreezes, but gets progressively worse with each freeze which lasts longer each time, up until my PC is unusable without a reboot.
I'm using a Kubuntu 16.04 fresh install with all updates. The kwin version is 4:5.5.5-0ubuntu1.

This happens to me as well. In my case, I have an Ivy Bridge CPU with HD 4000 series GPU. This is a fresh install.
