Bug Description
Distro: kubuntu-
Up to date as of 08/07/2012
After clean install + regular upgrade of Kubuntu Precise, no icon is displayed when adding the KDE Telepathy presence
applet to the stock KDE panel. Instead a transparent space is added, which I can left-click to access the applet functionalities. A screenshot, which shows the issue, is enclosed with this report.
Steps:
1) Install KDE telepathy meta-package
2) Right-click on KDE panel and add the presence widget (I double-clicked it, which added it on the far right of the panel)
3) Left-click on the transparent space appearing at the location you set the applet to stand
Expected result: a round icon with a colour representing the status of your connection should be displayed.

A fix has been committed. One of the post suggested a working solution, which is to enable the applet through the system tray settings. Tried it and it works.
