I am also seeing this bug, in Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit version. In the config menu of KQ the entry to turn on the sound will not toggle to the "ON" position, although all other menu items work fine. Sound plays perfectly in other games, flash, streaming media, etc. Any other information I can give to help, please ask, and I will happily oblige.
