Keyboard shortcuts to switch tabs

Why? This is the default katepart shortcut for codecompletion. Which works much better in 2.1beta1 than in 2.0.81.

Ctrl+Tab is the standard shortcut for switching between tabs when there are multiple tabs. (eg. firefox, google chrome) This was the behaviour of Ctrl+Tab in the last version of Kile I used (2.0 or 1.9 I guess). Since Enter also works for code completion I want my tab-switching back!

There doesn't even seem to be an option to assign a shortcut to "switch tabs"...

Actually the default KDE shortcut for forward-tab-switching seems to be Ctrl+., I would accept that as feature request, Ctrl+Tab, as it stands is not used in any tab-enabled KDE application so it will not get implemented for Kile either (especially not since it conflicts with a long-time kate shortcut).

Can you live with Ctrl+.? (general note: currently kile misses tab-control features all along, once those are added you can manually change the shortcut to whatever you want no matter what the default is)

OK. So tab switching should be Ctrl+., but that doesn't work yet. But when it does I will be able to change it to Ctrl+Tab? Is that where we are with this, at the moment?

Year 2012. still not able to switch tabs with shortcut keys

SOLUTION: it is "ALT+LEFT ARROW" for going to left tab
and "ALT+RIGHT ARROW" for going to right tab

Alt+Left/Right Arrow is really nice but unfortunately, Kile is the only app which I'm using where it is like this (and the only KDE app which I'm using). So even though it is a really great shortcut which is maybe better than Alt+Number or Ctr+Tab, I need one of them to control Kile conveniently. (Anyway thanks humker for mentioning this shortcut, I can start using multiple tabs in Kile now).

Possibility to change the short cut would solve the problem. Even better would be if Ubuntu Kile package has a default settings with "Alternate" (shortcut) set to appropriate value (Switch To Next Tab = Ctrl+Tab).

For example Firefox and Chrome allows to use both Ctr+Tab and Alt+Num on Ubuntu. And to make the overview complete: Alt+Left/Right Arrow is Go Back/Forward in those browsers. Alt+Up/Down Arrow does nothing while in Kile it is Go To The Previous/Next sectioning command.

Is there any way to redefine what ALT+LEFT/RIGHT does? I want to redefine that shortcut to use CTRL+PGUP/PGDOWN, but I can't find the shortcut that changes tabs anywhere in the settings. I'm using Kile 2.1.3 on Linux Mint.
