It is not possible to clean up and close the database automatically when the OS shutdown?

if the password db is shared on a network folder, it may be a problem.

summary: - keepassx do not release password db file
+ leaves stale lockfiles on unclean shutdown

Thank you for reporting this bug.

I have also noticed this phenomenon. However, the file is easily unlocked via typing in the master password. Seems a wishlist issue.

Confirmed by rusivi1. I disagree that it's expected behaviour, at least not under GNOME nor KDE - both provide interface for applications to learn about shutdown and close properly.

Changed in keepassx (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

This used to work properly (well over a year ago).
It is a multi-distro issue, it happens in Arch for sure & I think in Suse as well.
