Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace-bin

Description: Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)
Release: 8.10

kdebase-workspace-bin:
  Installiert: 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu8

The xlock component of KDE4 calls the kcheckpass utility to authenticate via pam. It's compiled using the service 'kde' (/etc/pam.d/kde). The kdebase-workspace-bin doesn't provide that file and pam uses the fallback /etc/pam.d/others.
Users with a more restrictive/secure /etc/pam.d/others can't unlock the screen because pam denying the password check.
