Bug Description
Kate in Kinetic comes with support for Git.
The kate git sidebar app displays the name of the git branch and a small git icon.
Double clicking on the branch name leads to a reproducible crash.

I rebuilt the kate source package 4:22.04.3-1ubuntu1 with the upstream patch. The patch solves the problem for me.
