Bug Description

Binary package hint: software-store

No sound or choppy sound on HDTV programs.
Program: 9:10 alpha6 Kaffeine 1.0pre2 Ubuntu / Linux-x86_64
Video Card: NVIDIA 8800 GTS (640MB)
Drivers: 190.32, nvidia-190-libvdpau

Kaffeine error message:

VDPAU wont work on a 88800GTS 640MB (or 320MB, or 8800GTX, ot 8800Ultra).

I'm not sure about the proprietary NVIDIA driver, but VDPAU on the 8800 GTS can work in the open-souce nouveau driver thanks to the 8800 GTS's VP1 decoding and acceleration block. It's just not implemented yet. You can monitor it's progress at http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/VideoAcceleration/
