Bug Description
i was installing updates on my ubuntu 10.10 tower (i686), and it always locks when updating initramfs-tools. it is creating some boot file (i do not know off the top of my head, i will post it as soon as i know what it is) when it locks. i tried apt-get, it made me run dpkg --configure -a to resume-
now i am stuck with a computer that is incapable of installing software or updates...

here is the text of the bug when i run sudo dpkg --configure -a :
larry@larry- server: ~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a img-2.6. 35-6-generic- pae
[sudo] password for larry:
Setting up initramfs-tools (0.96.1ubuntu4) ...
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.
and there it locks up.
