Thanks for reporting a bug, but we need more information on this bug. Could you please try executing 'apport-collect 835092' on the affected machine?

Yes, I could but it seems that apport-collect doesn't work behind proxy.

I tried to run indicator-weather from console but there is no debug output. I used apport-cli with pid number as an argument. I hope that report will be usefull for you.

My proxy settings:

env | grep proxy
http_proxy=http://192.168.65.1:8080/
ftp_proxy=ftp://192.168.65.1:8080/
all_proxy=socks://192.168.65.1:8080/
https_proxy=https://192.168.65.1:8080/
no_proxy=localhost,127.0.0.0/8,*.local

Weather Indicator uses dconf/gconf settings.

Could you please try to setup proxy settings via Gnome Control Settings
(Network - Network proxy) and post the output of the following command:
   gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.system.proxy.http

Thanks in advance,
Vadim

This is interesting.

I have set proxy in Control center - Network proxy but command gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.system.proxy.http
shows this:

org.gnome.system.proxy.http authentication-password ''
org.gnome.system.proxy.http authentication-user ''
org.gnome.system.proxy.http enabled false
org.gnome.system.proxy.http host ''
org.gnome.system.proxy.http port 8080
org.gnome.system.proxy.http use-authentication false

It seems that settings in not stored properly.

Thank you for your patience!

Petr

So there are two ways to solve the problem:
 - either manually setting proxy parameters via dconf-editor
 - or try updating to the latest build from PPA - or Oneiric repos (as the
indicator should detect incomplete settings and use gconf as a fallback
settings source)

Please, report back when the bug will be solved

This bug is affecting me as well. I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 and I don't have dconf-editor to lay on.

Different from the bug reported, my indicator-weather doesn't freeze when I search for some location. It do nothing, just don't show any results.

The proxy settings seem to be okay on my system. All other applications seem to work, expect apport-collect and weather (haven't come across other problems yet).

Even my system seems to be affect by the bug. I am running 12.04 32 Bit on a Desktop.
