Bug Description

The Sound Indicator has hardcoded gnome-volume-control and as fallback xfce4-mixer for the "sound preferences" menu entry. It should be configurable to let the user use other sound controlers like pavucontrol.

I would really appreciate this feature. Currently indicator-sound tries to use gnome-control-center for me, but since I don't have that installed, it just fails silently.

As a workaround for this, I've created $HOME/.config/upstart/indicator-sound.override, with the contents:

env DESKTOP_SESSION=xubuntu

- which makes the indicator use pavucontrol instead of gnome-control-center.
