Session menu doesn't work with KDM

which version of ubuntu are you using?

I am using ubuntu 9.1. Also, in case it is needed, below is the output
of uname command:

    Linux 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 16:20:31 UTC 2009
i686 GNU/Linux

I had to use the Lock-screen panel applet as a temporary work around. To
restore the original indicator-applet-session configuration,, I had to
change to display manager to gdm and completely remove kdm. Now,
everything works as it was and as expected. It looks like there is a
conflict between kdm and the indicator-applet-session.

I'm on Lucid updated/upgraded about an hour ago and I've got the same issue here.

Linux tartarus 2.6.32-13-generic #18-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 10 21:32:38 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Indicator Applet Session 0.3.2

dpkg -l shows:
ii indicator-applet 0.3.2-0ubuntu3 GNOME panel indicator applet
ii indicator-applet-session 0.3.2-0ubuntu3 A clone of the GNOME panel indicator applet.
...

indicator-session is not really meant to work with a display or session manager other than gnome ones.

@Pangagiotis Issaris: can you confirm in which environment this issue occurs, ie with kdm or gdm?

This issue occurs in gdm environment. However, it appeared only after
setting kdm as my default display manager and logging into a gnome
display session. After resetting back gdm as the default display manger
and removing kdm, everything returned back to normal.
