Bug Description

indicator-applet grabs "Super+M" (in spanish Ubuntu) combination and it can not be changed easily. It should be possible to change it through "System -> Preferences -> Keyboard shortcuts" dialog.

For me (english version, ubuntu 10.04 beta 2) indicator-applet grabs 's' (lowercase 's') and 'm' (lowercase 'm') with no modifiers, making it impossible to type and, as far as I can tell, there's no way to change this. Capital 'M' and 'S' are fine. #568401 describes it.

This seems pretty critical as you can't remap (unmap) these key bindings.

I also think this bug is quite critical, since I like to use my right super key as the compose key. Now I have to copy and paste every time I want to enter an ß.

I am on Ubuntu 10.04 with compiz, and for me super+s drops down the session menu while super+m changes the screen to render as a negative. I also must use lowercase letters or else the shift overrides the super key and the uppercase letter is typed.

Gonna peek at the code :)

Ubuntu 10.04 64 - this issue effects me too, as I need the super+m to make all screens negative - which is a compiz function!

upgraded to 10.10 and I was surprised that indicator-applet doesn't grub super+S, so I was able to use this shortcut in Compiz to select windows. But 2 weeks later something happened with my system theme (reset to default) and at the same time indicator-applet started to grub super+S. Don't understand how shortcuts could be related to system themes, but I was happy during these 2 weeks. Sorry guys, but I don't understand why it takes so long time to fix this annoying issue. Is there a temporary solution? I hope it's possible to disable grubbing super+S somewhere in gconf, since it was disabled for 2 weeks.
