I run into the same problem.
The real name of the required package is plasma- widget- kimpanel- backend- ibus (note the plaSMA instead of plasam) widget- kimpanel- backend- ibus badly installed/ configured ?
The point is that this package is actually installed in my system, but im-switch claims it is not. Is it looking for a wrong package name or is plasma-
I run Kubuntu 10.04 32bits.
