Bug Description

Binary package hint: human-icon-theme

Description:

When working in Gnome and choosing KDE human or Tangerine icons, there are missing icons in Kile.

How to reproduce:

1. Start your Gnome session
2. Open KControl
3. Choose KDE human or Tangerine icons
4. Open Kile

Results:

In Kile (KDE LaTeX editor) there are missing icons in toolbars. If I choose plain "Tango" icons, toolbar icons in Kile are displayed.

Expected behavior:

When using KDE human icons for KDE applications for better look'n'feel in Gnome session, all icons in KDE applications should be displayed.

I confirm this behave. The problem is present in all KDE apps used in Gnome sessions. A good behavior is, like it is implemented in feisty, that the icons
from Crystal SVG Theme used if there is no adequate Human or Tangerine Icon available.

I've solved this problem with to icon packages form kde-look.org
Look at this entry: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Human_KDE+Mod.+-Form.+HumanKDEKanpio+Mod?content=58968

If it's possible, in Hardy they should include these icons - and make it default if ubuntu-desktop package is installed!

This bug was nominated for Gutsy but does currently not qualify for a 7.10 stable release update (SRU) and the nomination is therefore declined. According the the SRU policy, the fix should already be deployed and tested in the current development version before an update to the stable releases will be considered. With 7.10 now released, that policy applies to this bug. See: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
