On a live version of trusty thar:
When I use the HUD menu in an application, I have to enter lots of letters, until the right entry shows up. For the first 3/5 letters, the menu shows just unfitting entries, that do not even match the combination of letters. This way the HUD menue gets almost useless, since on has to enter almost the whole menue entry without any knowledge if it was spelled correctly in advance.
To reproduce:
- Use e.g. Libre Office Writer (the Firefox Menue shew the same behavior)
- Press ALT
- try to insert a FOOTNOTE
- press letters: foo
- HUD shows 5 menue entries without footnote beeing included. infact it does not show 1 entry uncluding even foo*
- complete the search string: the right entry does appear in the list of suggested entries not before the letters FOOTNO are entered.
- In 12.04 and subsequent releases menue entries that fit the pattern show up immediately. |
