Bug Description
I'm quite sure that it's a duplicate of bug 902830.
I can for sure reproduce it with the following steps:
- Click Scan button and wait for ~5s while the scanner is initialized
- Unplug and plug back the cable
- A "Failed to scan" message appears
- Ignore it, click the Scan button again
- ... it crashes!
