Bug Description

My printer (HP LaserJet P 1102w) is dectected and installed perfectly, but doesn't print anything. According to hp-check, it requires some plugin to be installed. Command `hp-plugin -i` throws error message:

error: /home/shadowlmd/.hplip/hplip-3.15.2-plugin.run file does not match its checksum. File may have been corrupted or altered

Running hplip-3.15.2-plugin.run manually gives another error:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing HPLIP 3.15.2 Plugin Self Extracting Archive...............................
Error importing HPLIP modules. Is HPLIP installed?

Printer works perfectly under Windows, of course.

It's still an issue with 16.04. But I was able to download and install required driver (and set up printer) with this command: hp-setup -i <ip-address>.

Hello Vasya,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with hplip. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu and hplip have been updated since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you let us know and, in the current version, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 1468770
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and hplip better.

This is still a problem, but the solution/workaround is already found and described in my previous comment. Driver has to be installed manually via hp-setup tool. This bug should remain open so people can find this workaround until Ubuntu learns how to install this printer via System Settings -> Printers -> Add.
