Bug Description
SRU Details:
[Impact]
Twitter has shut down their old API on June 11th 2013 [1]. The current version Hotot in Ubuntu 13.04 (and older) uses this old API and hence logging in to Twitter from Hotot fails. Consequently, the whole application is unusable. Ubuntu 13.10 has already a working version of Hotot as part of bug 1191293.
[Test Case]
1. Open Hotot.
2. Notice that the automatic login fails to load the tweets and displays "Oops, an authentication error occured" as an error message. Manually clicking on the right arrow does not complete the log in either.
3. Upgrade to upstream release v. 0.9.8.14 and notice that login to Twitter works.
[Regression Potential]
Minimal, as the current version in the repositories no longer works. The new upstream release v. 0.9.8.14 is needed to switch to the new Twitter API.

Workaround: Use the Hotot PPA at ppa:hotot-team/ppa, though it's not as up to date than Saucy's version of Hotot. Please see https:/

Original report:
I cannot authenticate with Hotot (cannot access Twitter).
