Bug Description

Unfortunately, the fix has not been backported to Ubuntu 10.04 lTS or Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, both of which have versions of hostname < 3.08
Symptoms look like:
hostname --fqdn
hostname: No address associated with the name
This can break various software pieces that use hostname --fqdn for information.
